With a passion for movement, she strives to help her clients reach the fullest potential of the human body. With plans to further her studies in Physiotherapy, Yi Fang has an attentive eye for clients with pre-existing conditions and injuries. She specialises in strength, fat loss, muscle building and mobility training.

She lives by the principle of being present with her clients and hopes to create an environment where her clients feel assured in both themselves and her. Themselves to be consistent, and in her to guide them and see improvements together every session. A firm believer in the saying “give a man a fish, he eats for a day, but teach a man to fish, and he eats for life”.

Where did you begin, and why do you coach?

I used to be someone who used to struggle a lot with her own fitness, be it with reccurring injuries or not seeing progress and results. Many of my friends around me began lifting weights, so I decided to try it out for a change instead of the regular cardio - the only form of exercise I was used to at that point. I eventually fell in love with both the community and knowledge I found in the gym. Having experienced my fair share of hurdles and setbacks in fitness, I have gained a great awareness and perspective of the struggles and can thus empathise well with my clients. Afterall, no journey is linear!

I love trying out different sports, having played field hockey, Brazilian jiu jitsu, even training in a bit of a powerlifting style for a while. My primary training focus for myself now is longevity, functionality and mobility.



What is your coaching style?

Beyond the training on the ground, I try to encourage clients to confide in me their perspectives and habits towards fitness and health.

I think achieving fitness goals requires a proper structured approach, as well as staying consistent and adaptable. In order to do so, both my client and I have to have a good understanding of what my client is currently doing. With that knowledge, I try to help my clients fit fitness and health into their lives in a practical, sustainable and balanced form.

I love celebrating the small wins with clients and seeing them light up, even if it's at something as small as being able to stretch a bit further than before.



What is “Fitness” to you?

Fitness to me is something that constantly evolves. I believe in a holistic approach to fitness. As cliché as it is to say, "it's not just exercise, it's a lifestyle".
